Survivor Corps expanded its global reach in 2008 with a new program in Israel and the West Bank, which brings together Jewish, Arab and Christian teenagers to collaborate on environmental projects.

Eight-year-old Thuong of Vietnam was born without her lower left arm. Doctors suspect that their father's exposure to Agent Orange during the Vietnam War is most likely the cause her disability. Thuong often feels embarrassed about her missing arm, and is very shy around other children. She struggles with everyday activities like household chores and riding a bike, and often becomes frustrated when doing her schoolwork, as it is difficult for her to hold her paper steady and write with one hand.
